OK so it's pretty to look at.....from inside a nice warm home.......with a cup of hot tea in your hands....and standing by your fireplace, wood stove or pellet stove.
Knowing that you don't have to go to work in it, or be outside at all!
But if you have to be outside, for any reason, it's not pretty.
People digging out all over down south is not a pretty sight. This stuff is wet and heavy and there are usually stories about heart attacks and back issues due to the heaviness of this stuff. I do feel for them and hope they are safe.
All of that is coming our way...AGAIN !!!
So far this month we have received 47 inches of snow! At last report, we are due to get at least 6 MORE INCHES. That's 53 inches of snow. It's all supposed to start sometime on Wednesday but as of right now, no one is saying when.
So like everyone else, we stay glued to the news, watch the weather channel, and talk about working from home or leaving early from work to get home before it hits us again.
Once again, people will fill their tubs with water to flush the toilets in case they loose power. People go to the grocery store for bread, cold cuts and bottled water. They get extra gas for their generators and make sure the shovels are ready to get back to work. Between now and then, they are shoveling off the roofs because we all know what happens when those roofs get more snow!!
And if you don't know, then you live in the desert where snow is not an issue and I am glad for you.
You do have spiders the size of a coke can however!
We don't. So, it's not all bad!
So far it is just warm enough that we are only getting rain. I do mean hammered with rain! I can only imagine if it were snow. I had to laugh about the spiders. That is one thing that makes it okay to live in a colder region. I don't care for the large bug!
ReplyDeleteStay safe!
I'm planning on doing some "Spring Decorating" in hopes that Mother Nature gets the idea! Glad you only got rain.
DeleteWow, that's a LOT of snow. Hoping that you're spared this last 6 inches.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I hope we get spared too but it's not looking so good at the moment. Only time will tell.
DeleteI can't begin to imagine getting 47 inches of ANYTHING! At the moment, our entire yard is under about 4 inches of water, butthat's better than snow! You folks have to deal with the snow when it falls, then again, as it melts. Ugh! Please stay warm and safe!
ReplyDeleteI just measured 53 inches on me and it comes to just below my shoulder! That is a lot of snow!! I plan to stay warm, and maybe in my jammies....:)
DeleteMy heart truly does go out to you. 53" of snow in one month...I can't even imagine! Sure hope and pray this next round misses you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the prayers. May God Hear you and send this out to sea.
DeleteThat is a lot of snow!!! I do remember all the shoveling and snow removal from roofs; it does get tiring especially this late in the season and when the snow is heavy. I feel for you all! Hopefully spring will come early and stay early!! And though we have really nice weather it is sooooo expensive to live here.

Every section of the country has its up and downs. You have sunshine and higher taxes. We have lower taxes and lots of snow. Still, USA is the best place to live.
DeleteWe're heading back to NJ after a few days in Florida. Such a nice break. I hope this next bit of snow passes us by : ) Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteNow that is a lot of snow! Stay in if you can and stay warm. That picture of the tree is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI hope the snow passes you by. Being out of power isn't so bad when you don't need heat...but when you do, not so good.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes!
