One is a Lonely Number

We have one red tomato, just one.
We have a group of green tomatoes.
We have some tomatoes with just a hint of red.
(Of course you have to blow up the picture to see the red.)
But ALL the rest are just green.

Lots of green!

Nothing But Green!

I know we planted late but really!!
Still, cutting up the one tomato was fun and hubby said  it tasted really good.
Not much of a harvest yet but your welcome to share it with us.

  1. But those green tomatoes will turn red, right? ;-)

We talked about a garden, and while we're glad we didn't do one with all the heat and lack of rain here, I have to admit that I'm a little "jealous" when I see your tomato. Yummy! Love homegrown tomatoes in the summer!

  3. Well I guess if you got desperate you could always do the "fried green tomato" thing. Right? But I think I'd wait in due time it looks like you will have quite a harvest of beautiful red tomatoes.
A friend here in TN shared their harvest with us. They had an over abundance of tomatoes and okra. She was funny she said, "I gave you a bag of okra as well as the tomatoes. Do you all eat okra." I laughed, Yes we like okra." She was right to question it though cuz I will admit I had never tried it till I moved down here. If you have never had fried okra you are missing something it is quite tasty. Also today's little project is turning the rest of my gifted okra into okra pickles. They are quite yummy!! Try them they are a really tasty treat. Probably won't be able to find those in the stores there in NH though. Isn't it funny how some foods are known as "Northern" or "Southern".

  4. I've had about 5 or 6 ripe tomatos and the rest are green too. I don't know why they are so slow this year....but they taste really good.

  5. I see you have the Amazon gadget and was wondering how you like this. I've posted asking opinions about AdSense and I'd like to know what you think of the Amazon thing.

    Just wondering.....Thanks

  7. You have more of a harvest then me. I have one tomato plant which grows small tomatoes and I have only had one. A few more coming but they are still very green. Hopefully I will get to eat them before a bug does!
