Wednesday Hodgepodge: Really, it is!

Can you believe that it's Wednesday all ready. Are you all watching the new season of your favorite shows? We sure are!

1. Do you like chili? Red or white? Beans or no beans? Spice or no spice? Toppings?
Yes I do like chili, red, but not the really hot kind. Yes on the beans and for toppings, well cheese is always nice, corn chips is even better.

2. Red~Orange~Gold...your favorite fall color?
All of the above and add rust to the mix. I really love the darker colors of fall.

3. Who did you idolize when you were growing up?
Note sure I Idolized anyone, but I liked the clothes and colors of the 60's and I remember watching the Ed Sullivan Show which I enjoyed a lot. I wish they still made TV like that and not all this "Reality" Junk.

4. When was the last time you did something 'arts and craftsy'? Share please.
Does painting furniture count? Sure it does, then last weekend, when I painted and rearranged our dining area furniture.
Our Ice Box that was in my kitchen growing up. It was used back then, the ice went in the bottom left side cabinet.
5. What's a place that makes you really nervous?
Any place where I have to do public speaking. I get very nervous when I have to do that.

6. Horse back riding...yay or nay (neigh?)
If the horse is trained, like the ones you rent for a group ride, then I'm OK with it. As in visit a friend and jump on a horse and giddy up? NAY (Neigh)

7. What is your favorite cliche?
So here's the thing, I have a condition called Malapropism, also known as "Yogi Berra's" syndrome. I cannot say cliches correctly at all. I seem to either mix 2 or 3 together or use the wrong example all together. Often something funny comes out and Hubby has learned to figure out what 2 or 3 I mixed into one and sometimes he has no clue where I came up with whatever came out of my mouth. I am nothing, if not comic relief.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Our home heat has been on in the morning for the last few days, in September!! That is just wrong people! One morning I woke up and it was 48 degrees outside!  Fall is here early, I sure hope we get a little bit of what we call "Indian Summer."

  1. My hubs had a co-worker who used to mix up his cliches...he was famous for saying 'water under the dam' : )

Your furniture re-do definitely counts! Our heat has been on a bit too. I do love the fall temps but am not ready for winter yet!

  3. May I say again, I love the icebox! You did an excellent job.

You mentioned on my answers about the chili on spaghetti. It's very good. In the picture, that would be Cincinnati Chili, and it is a little different that regular chili, but my hubby makes regular chili and we put if over spaghetti noodles too. My mom used to but elbow macaroni in chili when we were kids. I guess with 5 kids she had to do whatever she could to stretch the food farther. haha

I'm with you on the horseback riding and the fall colors. I love the fall.

  4. I am definitely ready for all weather - at home! Fall, NOT winter!! I do LOVE winter ... the snow, the fireplace, etc. I just wish it only lasted 4 weeks instead of 4 months. ha!

And I'm with you on the reality shows. I haven't seen a one yet ... and don't intend to. I think I must be the only person in the US who can say that.

  5. Public speaking makes me nervous, too. I'm shy by nature.

I really love that icebox. How awesome that you were able to keep it. Great conversation piece :)

Wish I could send a bit of our warmth to you, in exchange for some of your cool...

  7. I am sure the painting counts. Heat on! Way to soon. Our air is still running. I can not speak in public, no way!

  8. No, we are not watching the new TV shows -- we have no TV in this house!! So we can tell "Kathy... better known as Nana" that she is not the only one who has never seen a reality TV show. :)

Mr. Malaprop lives here, and he is a preacher. We hear some pretty funny ones!

Thanks for your comment about my sick kid. She made a miraculous recovery and is now eating me out of house and home.

  9. I never heard of that syndrome, interesting; I'm sure it keeps your hubby hopping trying to figure out what you are saying! I'm with you on public speaking, I avoid it at any cost!

I do hope you get a bit of warm weather before the cool fall/winter descends on you!
