Time off = Traveling Bed Toys =VACATION

Hi all, I know I've been away for a bit.  One week, it was just so beautiful, we were outside more than inside.  Indian summer showed up. For those who may not know what Indian Summer is, it's when the cold temperatures rise for a week or so and it feels like summer all over again.  One day you will be wearing Uggs and the next day, flip flops.   The second week, Indian summer decided to stay around for our vacation so we were gone.

It was a wonderful vacation too.  We started by heading up northeast from us into Maine and stayed by Bar Harbor.  Flat Fox is one of August's bed toys.  Do you have bed toys for your small dogs?  We do. We have about 5 small toys tucked under the pillow on our bed.  When (not if) August wakes up and we do not want get up, he is allowed to get a toy and play quietly on the bed with it.  Luckily, he falls back to sleep within a few minutes of sucking or chewing on his bed toys.  So the bed toys came on vacation with us as well.  Flat Fox is one of the first toys he got as a new to us puppy by his Auntie Anu and he L-O-V-E-S Flat Fox so as we drove north, Flat Fox would look out the window at the changing colors and scenery.

As we drove north the colors were more and more vibrant.  At one point they were at peak, which is one of the reasons so many people travel to the northeast for Leaf Peeping.  How many times do you look out the window and don't see what others travel hundreds of miles to see what you are looking at out your window.  It seems strange, that we get so use to the changing seasons, the colors, the crispness in the air, we just don't stop to look at it all.  This week we stopped to look at it.

Our first stop was the Acadia Sunrise Motel in Trenton, Maine, Just outside of Bar Harbor.  A quaint little "Mom and Pop" type of motel.  The room was clean, the bed comfy, there was lots of room for the dogs and it was adjacent to a small airport which was so much fun to sit and watch the planes and relax, and see what so many look at but never see.

The dogs would walk around and visit or play on the swing set that was there. August really liked going inside and looking out the windows or climbing up and looking out the top of this thing.

And he met the "Easter Bunny"!  I mean really, this thing, a Flemish Giant, was HUGE and was only a teenager. The owner told us he weighed about 14 pounds but would grow to about 20 pounds so this thing is just a baby still.  Holy Cow, August wasn't too sure about this thing.

I'll tell you more tomorrow. In the meantime, go look outside and enjoy your day.

  5. So happy to read that you were able to take your leaf peeping vacation. There is no place on earth prettier than New England during fall foliage season, and this is the time of year I miss living there the most.

Smiled when I saw August still has his Flat Fox. Remy's gone through a couple of them and he still loves those. What a great idea to keep August entertained while you sleep!

I've never seen a rabbit that big - wow! It's looks to be a lot bigger than August, and I can see why August might have been a bit hesitant. I thought it was a stuffed toy in her arms before I read what you wrote.

Looking forward to hearing more about your vacation. So glad you're back online writing again. Missed you!

    1. This is the orgiial Flat Fox you gave him. He takes very good care of him and we have to hand wash him if he gets dirty. He will wait for him while he is in the sink and kisses him. He looks for him if he forgets where he put him last and will share him with me when I'm under the weather.
I've never seen a rabbit that big either and he was sure pretty but he was twice the size of August and so he stayed away. We miss you as well.
