Pesto Green and Hot Chocolate Brown |
I don't usually paint every room in the house for Spring Cleaning, but I do like to freshen things up for the new season. do you paint or move things and clean like mad? Our living room was 2 tone brown as you can see from this photo taken over the Christmas season last year. It also had a wall paper border that I no longer liked. So it all got taken down.
Since we have a small house, I wanted to use a color that both I liked and also a color that was already in our house. The solution was Pesto Green. It's very simular to what I have in my office that I redid in the fall of 2010. Here is a picture of the new office color.
I had to go buy more paint and frankly couldn't remember the color exactly but this sure does match it.
The fireplace wall was brown to begin with but a fresh coat of paint and a white trim over the doors and mantle made the fireplace look clean, fresh and inviting.
Moving pictures from one wall to another also made everything fresh and clean. The fish got moved as well. And with Spring getting closer everyday, I will be able to spend more time outside and less inside cleaning.
How about you? Do you Spring Clean? Do you move the furniture around for a fresh look and really clean behind everything?
I'm convincing myself that since we've been in this house just 2 1/2 years, I have no need to do any Spring Cleaning yet. But I really do need to do some more thorough cleaning than normal ... windows need cleaning, blinds need cleaning, baseboards need cleaning. So I suspect that I'll be doing some Spring Cleaning here ... maybe not as thorough as what you've done, but Spring Cleaning nonetheless. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I'm having my master bathroom shower redone so I'm thinking no point in going too crazy cleaning until they finish. They are pretty neat but still, they took down dry wall and have to put more up so there will be lots of dust.
ReplyDeleteNot that I needed an excuse to put off spring cleaning : )
