Joyce did a great job with this weeks questions. You know what to do so join in the fun and thank you Joyce.
I check the weather often to check local weather, week's extended forecast and friend's weather. I check weather in San Diego, CA (son and his family), Mooresville, NC (friend), and Anchorage, AK (another friend). I use my iPhone app "Weather Live."
85 was our weather at the time I took this photo |
2. Since this is volume 84 of the Wednesday Hodgepodge, and since I got married in 1984, and since I'm attending a wedding this weekend it only seems right to post something related here.
"Happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance. If the dispositions of the parties are ever so well known to each other or ever so similar beforehand, it does not advance their felicity in the least. They always continue to grow sufficiently unlike afterwards to have their share of vexation; and it is better to know as little as possible of the defects of the person with whom you are to pass your life."
Agree or Disagree. Why?
I think that in our case opposites did attract. We didn't know a lot about each other (although we thought we did, young love!) As we grew as people, we also grew as a couple, learned to get along, learned to share and learned to communicate. So I guess I agree. Love covered a lot of the "defects of the person with whom we were to pass our lives."
3. Do you like to dance? Have you ever taken dance lessons?
I LOVE to dance and that is very different from being good at dancing!!! Gerry and I took Square Dancing lessons in the past and had a blast learning both square and round dancing. A good friend and I took Belly Dancing lessons, complete with hip scarfs and bare feet! Took country line dancing as well! So, it may not be the traditional dancing that most people think of, but I'm not a traditional kind of person.
4. Fresh from the oven peach pie or home made peach ice cream? Pick one.
5. Should people accept unfairness and learn to make the best of it?
The only thing that is fair about living on this planet, is that it is unfair to everyone! Make the best of it, learn from it, grow because of it and be a better person.
6. The top five all time summer movie blockbusters (released between May and August and grossing at least 100 million dollars) are-Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars (the original), Ghostbusters, and ET. Which one's your favorite?
Star Wars! The force was with me for a long time. I love science fiction and this movie was one that spoke to me.
7. If given the chance, would you like to visit the moon?
7. If given the chance, would you like to visit the moon?
As much as I hate heights, I would say yes! I would love to see the earth from the view point of the moon. And look at our country's flag still up there.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
The Summer Olympics will start July 27th. On the news tonight, they were talking about all the security that is in place now and how, as we get closer to the start of this great event, it will only get stronger. I'm glad I don't live in London right now. It's nuts!!!

Good answer to #5.
ReplyDeleteI still wish I lived in London right now : ) Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteWould love to travel to the moon, also.
ReplyDeleteWhen CH & I visited London in Oct., the tv was advertising some great rates on DisneyWorld...guess they want as many people as possible to leave during the Olympics! I can't imagine how crazy that city is going to be!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the Olympics!
ReplyDeleteFunny how relative temperatures can be ... 85 would be almost balmy here during the summer ... in fact, the air conditioner doesn't get turned on until the indoor temperature gets above 85. So I run the oven when it's 85. ;-)
You had some good answers!
ReplyDeleteI'd been wondering about the Olympics, and when they would begin. I haven't been doing much tv watching, but I'll have to catch some of the games.
I didn't think about looking at the earth from the moon. That would be cool.
ReplyDeleteI always love the summer Olympics. Unfortunately, we're going to be in Germany during that time so we won't get to watch much. (I mean, a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Germany isn't unfortunate, just wish the timing were different.)
Maybe we can go to the moon together! lol
ReplyDeleteI loved Star Wars too.
I don't like turning on the oven when it's that hot either. Not that I really enjoy turning it on any other time. Cooking is not my favorite thing to do. : )
ReplyDeleteBelly dancing....I just don't picture you doing that. How cool are you!!! To the moon Lynn Marie...you surprised me again. Most people I read said no. As much as I would love to visit London again I would not want to be there right now either. I can't wait to watch although Winter Olympics are my favorite.
