Blog Blitz

Have you heard about Blog Blitz? No?  Well you can go here to learn more, but here is how it works.
You sign up and make sure that they have your email.
Then every so often, you will get an email with a date and a blog address to visit.  The idea is to go to the blog and leave a comment of encouragement on the date given to you. We can all use some encouragement can't we?

Can you imagine being the recipient of over 100 comments?  That would just be so great don't you think.  The last time I looked there were some 170 of us on the list so at some point 169 of those on the list get an email directing us to go visit someone on the list.

It's a great way to meet new bloggers that perhaps you would never have found. I wonder if they are from other countries, or other cultures that I am not familiar with. Image all the things I could learn from them. Image being on the receiving end of over 100 people showing up to my little blog about life in the upper right hand corner of the USA with Hubby and 2 dogs?

So click on over,  join in, and wait to see where you will either be directed to go visit, or one day open your own blog to find so many have come to you.

Wont that be fun? So go- NOW!

A little Under the Weather

Hi all, and thank you for your care.  I'm a bit under the weather and so I've been living low key and staying warm.  In NH one day it's 66 degrees and the next it's 30! So with all of that I have some bug.  I'm not blogging at the moment and working on getting better.  I'll be back as soon as I can.  Until then, be thankful for physical pain becasuse it tells you something is wrong!!!

Yes, I am just this NUTS!

I joined the NANWRIMO this year. It stands for National, Novel Writing Month 2011 and it starts today.  The object is to write 1700 words every day for the month of November. By the end of the month, you have written your first Novel.  OK so I'm not planning on writing a great novel. I may end up with a bunch of gibberish, but it will be great to learn the writing process and to see what others come up with. I joined the NH chapter and at the time there were just over 2000 people who had signed up all ready. 2000 people in one tiny state!! There are chapters all over the globe, with one goal in mind, to write.

If you ever wanted to challenge yourself for the short term, why not join in? You can write your journal and create a novel.  Did you adopt a child, write it down this month and by December 1st, you have your child's story as a novel for them.  Do you travel, wow do you have stories to tell, here is the place to put it down.  Have a great imagination and can come up with a story line, here is your chance to see if you can pull it together.  Want to turn your blog into a book? Here's one way to do it.

Beside, remember I did the 2400 mile challenge.  Why wait till 2012 to attack another challenge!! My goal is to see if I can still be somewhat sane on December 1st. I'll have to let you know about that - or maybe Hubby will let you know.  BTW He's doing the challenge as well.

Blog Button

Since I've been blogging and reading other blogs, I was wondering how to get those great buttons onto my blog and frankly learning this "Blog Language" has my eyes glazing over - rolling into the back of my head, and "blah! blah! blah!  ENGLISH blah! Blah! Blah!" runs through my mind. Terms like YourButtonURL, YourBlogURL, and YourBlogName all have me scratching my head and wondering what is the difference and where do I find these codes/names on my computer screen. So I just started looking around for someone who spoke English.  I think I found her. Chronicles of Amber had what looked like a easy way to create a button.  I will give you the link so that you can have the pictures as well, however, her language is a bit raunchy so here is the link but you have been warned.  Here's the link because she does deserve the credit for this.

The short version of her directions without pictures follows:

How to copy my buttons onto your blog
1.       Copy the photo and place it on your desktop (or someplace where you will remember it). If you have a Mac simple click on the picture and drag it to the desktop.

2.      Go to your Dashboard and select DESIGN

3.      Click on ADD A GADGET

4.      Select PICTURE

5.     Upload my button picture from your computer (do you remember where you put it?) In the “Link” section add my blog info which is http://lifethroughbifocals.blogspot.com/

6.    Hit SAVE and that should be it.  You will see the button but not the code under it.

I asked Hubby to try to see if he could add my button to his blog and he did so it did work. Now to figure out how to make these directions a page. Here we go again with directions that have me thinking "Blah! Blah! blah! ENGLISH Blah! Blah! Blah!"
I hope you all have good weekend everyone!
