Our Lilac tree finally bloomed - it must have been all the rain we got! |
Of course, because I was unaware that the 3 books were a series, I read them in the wrong
order.
It turned
out OK. They can stand alone. The main characters are the same and you don't
need book 1 to understand book 2 and so on.
Book 1
takes place during Easter Week
Book 2
takes place during Thanksgiving
Book 3
takes place during St. Patrick's week
Now if I had looked at the 3 titles, I would have figured out that they belong together, but I'm not very good at putting clues together so I didn't get it. Together
they make a great series. I would recommend them to you for quick reads with
lots of turns and twist.
So now my Nook reader on my iPad is in need of some more so that when the sun finally does come out, I can enjoy another good read. Do you
have a series that you would recommend? I'm looking forward to some reading this
summer on the deck.
In the
sun!
In the
heat!
With some
of hubbies ice coffee next to me!
Have a
good weekend everyone
Hi Lynn Marie:
ReplyDeleteHave you ever read anything by Lori Wick? She's awesome and has several different series out. She's one of my favorite authors. My favorite 2 books of hers are "Pretence" and "Bamboo and Lace". These 2 are not a series but are excellent. I've read them both at least 2 times and maybe 3 times.
Have fun reading!
Cathy, Thank you, I have not read anything from her so I will look her up!
DeleteI will put those 3 books on my "to-read" list. They should like perfect reading for our trip to the beach in September. I've been doing some reading on my Kindle ... mostly free books. So far most of the books I've read have been ok - nothing spectacular. So I don't have anything to recommend. Which is why I'll be coming back to check out what everyone else recommends for you. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI meant to say "they should be perfect reading for our trip to the beach in September". Obviously I haven't had enough caffeine yet. ha!
DeleteI like the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child.
ReplyDeleteHave you read the Mitford series by Jan Karon. Someone mentioned them today and I'd forgotten how much I loved them. They're not new but should be read in order.
ReplyDeleteI love lilacs! We don't have them in California but I have fond memories from our bush in the yard when I was growing up. I am not much of a ready but when I do read they are usually romance novels so I don't think I'd be much help to you :) Enjoy your weekend.
