Weekend Review & Pinned it Made it Monday

We had a wonderful weekend of melting snow!! It's not all gone by any means, in fact, I still can't find the septic tank.  The snow melts there first since there is so much percolating going on in there and it creates heat, of sorts.  It's still under snow, a lot of snow.  Still, there's a lot of wonderful melting going on all weekend. A wonderful weekend in Spring!

Our oldest granddaughter turned 4 years old and this was truly the first year that she was "Into" the whole birthday party thing.  Before this party she would get over stimulated and leave the room, even if there were gifts left to open, or cake to eat or whatever.  This year, she was able to enjoy it all, the meal, the cake, the  gifts and the play time with her cousins.  It was so nice to visit with the other set of grandparents and I had my first vegan meatball.  That is a oxymoron but I don't know what else to call them.  Our daughter is vegan and so she made vegan meatballs.  I had never had them before so I tried one and was pleasantly surprised that they were pretty good.  Not bland at all which is what I thought it would be.  I would eat those again. Really I would.

I'm also joing the Pinned it - Made it Monday for the very first time over at Country Girl At Home.

Here is what I pinned

And here is what I made.

I make cards for people and needed a way to organize them. I saw this on Pinterest and had to try it.  I thought that it was a nice way to put my cards in order.  My basket is larger and  my labels are smaller but still,  I didn't have to buy anything because I had everything on hand. The photo is not as good as I would like, but it was taken with my cell phone and so it's not the best, and I'm not the best with my cell phone calendar.

So that is my weekend and my Pinned it - Made it Monday.  How was your Spring weekend?

I joined Pinterest, but never seem to find time to go and check it out. One of these days!

I'm glad your granddaughter was able to enjoy her special day. Sending birthday wishes her way!

    1. Pinterest is one of those things I seem to do while waiting in line someplace or have time to kill. I find lots of gift ideas there.

  2. Lynn,

That's a great way to keep those cards organized! Mine are stuffed in a drawer. Your way makes it easy to go find what you need. I love that!

Happy belated birthday to your granddaughter! :)

    1. Yes melting snow is the best kind of snow at this point! Still can't find the septic tank! If you send me the air line ticket to your southern home, I will pack my lable maker and show up ready to work!!!

  5. So far the snow has passed us by today and the temps are supposed to improve later this week so here's hoping. It won't be warm, but it won't be 20 either : ) Happy Birthday to your granddaughter!

  6. I love when kids get to the age they appreciate and get excited about everything. It's fab.

I'm still trying to work out Pintrest - I'm wondering if it's my lack of crafty skills (or interest, I do appreciate what others can create though).
