Wednesday Hodgepodge: Welcome to my life

1. Using what's in your fridge right now what sort of meal would you be able to make for guests who are knocking at the front door this very minute?
It will depend on the weather, if it's cold out (remember I live in the upper right hand corner of the USA and we have had some cold mornings and cool/chilly evenings) I have all the "fixings" for beef stew. If it's nice out, the grill is ready for steaks, chicken, garden veggies. The freezer has ice cream and the fridge has strawberries.

2. What is something about yourself that you hope will change but that probably never will?
I worry. I would love to walk around in this life so full of confidence that I worry about nothing, but the truth is, I worry. I worry about things I have no control over and I guess it is what keeps me on my knees praying to God who has control. So I don't think it will change, but I wish it would.

3. What's something about yourself that you hope will never change?
I don't swear at all. Even though I hear it all the time!! I have not picked up that nasty habit and hope that I never do. It sounds so cheap I think.

4. Do you usually send serious or funny greeting cards? Why?
Yes, I pick the card to match the person who it is going to. So if the person really has a great sense of humor, I go with the funny card. If they need the serious card, then that is what I send them.

5. Bird watching, shell gathering, or star gazing- your choice for whiling away the hours?
Star gazing all the way-from deep in the woods!

6. Do you double or triple check things? If so, what?
Oh yes!  The doors before I leave the house, the garage door as I drive away and to make sure the coffee pot is off (even though it turns off automatically) .

7. What's your favorite place for people watching?
Where ever I am is a good place for people watching. I don't have to go someplace special to watch people. I can watch them in the doctor's office, the food store, or the gas station.  People are everywhere!

8. Insert your own random thought here.
I love having my retired hubby home!  It's so nice to wake up and he's home. It's even nicer to come home from work and he's home.  He has even taken me in to work so we can spend time together.
My very own Super Hero

  2. I love people watching too. Star-gazing is something else I enjoy, but she made us pick only one. haha

Sounds like dinner at your house would be really good no matter the season.

  4. I also worry. Not a good trait, but it is who I am!

  6. I'm so envious of your cool mornings! We won't have those for another two or three months yet. I worry too but I figured out a long time ago that this is never going to change!

  7. When it comes to my children I worry.
They are almost all adults and I wish I didn't worry so much.
I give them over to our Lord, then pick it right back up.

  8. If I leave now, I could be at your house in a couple of days, I imagine. I'll be ready for dinner ... and either stew or steaks will be fine with me!

I worry a lot, too. I know that God is in control and that means that I really don't have anything to worry about ... but I can't seem to help myself. :-(

  10. I knew you would come up with something to eat in #1. I know exactly what you mean on #2. I worry so much and I let it control my life which leaves me not enjoying it! The stars are amazing when you away from the city. It is so unbelievable. I am so happy that your hubby is now with you each day. He worked hard for that.
